Happy 2013

Gosh, its been QUIET here!
BUT NOT ANYMORE!

One of my 2013 resolutions is to keep this blog alive and running, so hopefully I hold on to that.

This month's TBR!
  1. Struck By Lightning by Chris Colfer
Chris Colfer aka Kurt Hummel(Glee) writes a BOOK? Now imagine, how entertaining and amazing that book would be. E.X.C.I.T.E.D! I have already started reading this amazing boganza and guess what I CAN ACTUALLY hear Chris Colfer's voice in my head- how weird is that?
  1. Zoya Factor by Anita Chauhan
I was watching Zoon Bollywoo, a channel ripe with bollywood celebrity gossips and APPARENTLY this book is going to be a MOVIE. Its about how a girl can change the fate of the Indian cricket team! I mean, cricket is such a boy sport, but its fate in a girl's hands.  Oh yea, girl power!!  I am quite excited to read this book and its been a while since I read a book by an Indian author.
Another aspect of this book that I am quite excited about? ITS COMING IN THE MAIL. This must be my FIRST time ordering a book via amazon. WELL DONE ZEENA!
  1. Seraphina by Rachel Hartman
When I first saw this books on the "NEWCOMERS" section in the bookshop, I was not at all enticed. I thought, "nah another book about dragons and a girl" But this book has received all the adoration of the book-tubers, and NOW I AM DEFINITELY intrigued.

Every month, I also want to read a book related to the medical field because I AM STUDYING MEDICINE, and don't you think it is only appropriate that I read something that is pertaining to my career?

So this month,
It is going to be:
..........
I HAVE NOT DECIDED!
Well i am heading to the library later today so hopefully I will find a book that is amazing.

Speak soon!
And yes I will update you about the medical book
And yes, SPREAD THE JOY!

City of Fallen Angels

Firstly, let me apologize for not posting a review for gazillion years.
I had school and things were going crazy, but its all calm now at my end.

So here I am, posting a review for "City of Fallen Angels"

After City of Glass, I was not sure how the story would take off. Valentine dead? Sebastian dead?
So what could possibly go wrong?

But little did I know, the story is not OVER.
So what if Valentine is dead, there are so many unknown unsung villains in this book.

Overall, this was a thrilling read and Cassandra Clare never dissapoints her readers.

Is it me or was JACE really getting on your nerves with his whole, "i do not deserve you" thing. I feel like just slapping him and saying, " look at Clary, stop being a hero and pretending you can live without her, or she without you.". But after a while, you truly felt his sorrow and plight.
He's a HERONDALE. (ahhh, swoon)
He still managed to make me laugh.
And i loved his chemistry or for the lack of a better word, shall i say, ' bromance?" with Simon.

I really can't wait to get my hands on the next one!!!

City of Glass

One "word"
AHHHHHHH!

Okay, that was not really a word, hence the inverted commas.
But wasn't it amazing?

If you haven't read the first two books of the Mortal Instrument series, then I suggest,
YOU GET GOING AND GET THE BOOKS MATE! (you don't want me to spoil the book for you do you?)

But if you are up to date with the series or have read the third book, you could stick around!

I was uber excited getting into this book because of the eminent war that loomed in the horizons of the shadowhunter world. I really wanted to know if Simon had any other powers (i really have grown to love Simon), if Jocelyn would finally wake up and if Clary and Jace get together regardless of their relationship status.

The second book was a cliff hanger and I hated hanging by a thread.

But this book was amazing for so many reasons
  1. We get to know who Jace is. His background. His blood (literally)
  2. Simon. Yes his name alone suffices
  3. Jocelyn is AWAKE!!
  4. Simon.
  5. The name - Herondale comes up in this book - Yay William from TID
  6. Simon
  7. The heartbreaks
  8. The Oohs
  9. The Aahs
  10. Simon
I am just so happy that Jace and Clary can get back together and there's no more incest in the book. Valentine gone forever, I presume. And even though, i will miss Jonathan Rhys Meyer's in my head, I am glad the evil one is gone.
 And aww, Jocelyn and Luke!!

I will be doing a  PROPER book review on the series so far, once I have read all the book in the series, (till City of Lost Souls).

This is just post so that I can ramble on the awesomeness of the book to you guys

Let me know how you loved the book! I would love to hear your thoughts!

Perks of being a Wallflower

First up: I am terribly, horribly very very sorry, this blog had been abandoned for about a week? I had a paper to do! Then after which I took of on an holiday! Now that the paper is done and dusted, and I am back revitalized!, I AM HEREEE!!!
(*runs around in an circle waving hands in the air**)

Reading this book made me feel intrusive; like I was reading someone's diary. But nevertheless, being the "nosy poker" that I am....  I LOVED This book.

Plot Summary: (Courtesy Goodreads)
Standing on the fringes of life... offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a provocative new voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

This is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up

My thoughts
Wow what a read!
1991 guys. freaking 21 years ago, this is what high school was all about.
And Charlie.. oh Charlie. He is just so unique isn't he?

This book introduces the readers to the world of drugs, first love, parties and sex. (SO if you are young/pre teen, maybe this book is not for you, till very much later). You see things as Charlie experiences them first hand. It is quite interesting as you never know who Charlie is writing this to, he addresses every letter to a "friend" but you never find out who this "friend is" I think its me. Yes, it is!
I read this book, in a day. Yes guys, its a short read and a very intriguing one too. So you will find it hard to put it down. Some parts of it was really disturbing. But seriously look past it, this book is seriously one of its kind.
I am really excited for the movie!!!!

Don't you just love this quote:

"I would die for you, But i will not live for you"

This quote just hits you in the face doesn't it?

Like Charlie, don;t you  want to feel like YOU ARE INFINITE?

Rate: 5/5
Everyone should read this!

City of Ashes

You know the feeling you get, when you continue reading the "other books" in a series you absolutely adore, the joy, the sense of being home again; if being welcomed with open arms into the world you never wanted to leave in the first place? That was how I felt when I started reading City of Ashes.

They may be spoilers!!
If you haven't read the first book, maybe you should not read this blog post, just yet
On second thoughts, YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST BOOK. Say whut??

The plot summary: (Courtesy Goodreads)
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

My thoughts:
Oh my gee, what a book? Firstly, the name Herondale appeared in this book and sent chills down my spine! WOOHOO! (**Does the Herondale-is-in-this-book, oh yea! dance**)

Simon is just too amazing in this book, Such an amazing friend, sometimes i just feel so sorry for him. And yes, i have to admit, erm I felt a pang of jealousy when Simon showed some interest in Maia. but i am glad everything is fine between Simon and Clary, and that Clary is not stringing him along (**Coughs- Bella with Jacob Black** coughs). And for Simon, jeez I guess putting my jealousy aside, I am glad he "found someone" who likes him, that way no?

AND ALSO! ROBERT SHEEHAN as Simon????, I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!

Jace is such an.... He was not my most favorite of characters in this book. Just not in this book. Hopefully in the next book, he would be much more appealing! I mean don't get me wrong, he was nice, charming and jerkish- (his usual self and all), but something about him just wanted me to PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE AND KNOCK SOME SENSE INTO HIM!
I don't know why though, can't quite put my finger on it! Its just one of those things!!

I have grown to love the Lightwoods so much!! Max Lightwood, such an adorable kid. N'awww! Cuddles!!

Knowing that JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS is indeed playing the part of Valentine- I just cannot get myself to hate Valentine. I mean JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS guys!, come on!
Haha, but Valentine is sick and weird and i cannot wait for him to die. LIKE VOLDEMORT. haha wow look at that, both evil, both names starting with V!

I could not stop giggling when Magnus Bane was compared to Albus Dumbledore, Oh the jokes!

Don't you just love the quote?

“Look," Luke went on, "In all the years I've known him, there's always been exactly one place Simon wanted to be, and he's always fought like hell to make sure he got there and stayed there."
"Where's that?"
"Wherever you were.

AWWWWWW!!!!
